NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS 2011 - UPDATE

NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS 2011

Please note that the Senior Executive has upheld the rule that riders are required to hold their C Certifiate by the 1st January of the year of the competition. Unfortunatley those of you who did not have their certificate by the 1st January 2011 are not eligible for selection.

Please see attached the updated list of the riders who are eligible for selection.

EVENTING

The selection for the Eventing Team will be made at the State Championships at Monarto on 18th & 19th June.  If you wish to be considered for the team it is imperative that you compete at this event.

For the time being continue your usual training and compete in as many of the upcoming One day Events as is possible.  Competition is the best training tool availalbe.  Please supply a list of achievements to the state office by the State Championships.  Glynis PRITCHARD has stepped up to the plate as Co-Ordinator of this group.  Her contact details are: 83892218 or 0417 828119 or millbrookpast@active8.net.au

DRESSAGE

There are two trainings to be held for Dressage where selectors will be present.  The first is the Northern Zone school to be held on 27th - 29th April at Port Augusta.  The second will be on the 7th & 8th May in a more central location.  More details to follow.  Those riders attending the Northern Zone school are not obliged to attend the training on the 7th & 8th May.

Selections for the long list will be made at these two trainings and the final team will be published by mid June.  A training for the team will be held in the July school holidays.

For the time being continue with regular lessons, attend any zone schools and most importantly attend as many competitions as possible in the next few months.  Please supply a list of acheivements to the state office by 31st May 2011. Leanne MAYNARD (Lower North Zone) has agreed to be the Co-ordinator for Dressage and the National Dressage Manager.

RULE CHANGES FROM THE LAST CHAMPIONSHIPS

There has only been one rule change form the 2009 Championships.  All heights for jumping remain the same apart form the Show Jumping Phase of the Eventing.  Juniors will ride a 105cm course and the Associates will ride a 110cm course.

AGES

Ages remain the same.  Juniors are riders who are under 17 on 1st January 2011 and Associates are riders who are 17 and over on 1st January 2011
