The Office for Recreation and Sport is a State Government agency with a commitment to promoting growth and excellence in recreation and sport for South Australia. The Office for Recreation and Sport provides financial assistance to eligible sport and active recreation organisations, local government and schools, through a series of funding programs aimed at assisting all levels of sport and active recreation in South Australia.

Active Australia is a Federal Government initiative managed by the Australian Sports Commission.

Another initiative of the Australian Sports Commission is the Club Development Network which provides resources to assist clubs improve their capacity and capability to deliver sport at the local level. Membership is free and open to all sporting and other recreational bodies. Many Australian Pony Clubs and Zones have already registered.

Australian honours recognise and celebrate outstanding achievements and contributions of extraordinary Australians. You can access the Australian Honours List - all those Australians who have received honours since 1901 - and other information on honours. Many past and present Pony Club volunteers are recipients of the Australian Sports Medal and are listed on the site.

Smartplay is a South Australian intiative to educate children playing sport to warm up, gear up, and drink up.

Quit Now - The National Tobacco Campaign - is a national health initiative of the federal, state, and territory governments.

The Play by the Rules website provides information and online learning about how to prevent and deal with discrimination, harassment and child abuse for the sport and recreation industry. Play by the Rules is a partnership between the Australian Sports Commission and all State & Territory sport and recreation and anti-discrimination agencies.

The object of the Oxygen website is to promote and encourage healthy lifestyle choices and provide information on the impact of tobacco.

Riding for the Disabled Association SA is a voluntary, not for profit, organisation which provides riding instruction and other activities associated with riding and harness driving for people with disabilities. Many Pony Clubbers are also actively involved with RDA.

SunSmart is another intiative of The Cancer Council South Australia aimed at encouraging South Australians to adopt sun protective behaviours and raising their awareness of the need to detect potential skin cancers early and seek treatment promptly.

Asthma affects 300,000 South Australians and is more prevalent in people of Pony Club age - 1 in 4 school children and 1 in 7 adolescents are affected. The Asthma SA website has many resources for individuals affected by asthma and for sporting and recreational organisations.

Resource guide on fragrance allergy and sensitivity. This guide highlights environmental health and safety, the causes of fragrance sensitivity and treatments, hazardous air pollutants to name a few.
